Coral Us Happy With Pantone’s Pick
Every December Pantone’s color experts announce the Pantone Color of the Year for the year ahead. And, as you can probably imagine, our creatively driven team looks forward to seeing what they’ve come up with. Of course, some years are better than others. However, we have to admit that 2019’s color does not disappoint.
This year’s color is a beautiful, bright shade of coral, aptly titled Living Coral 16-1546. If you are not familiar with Pantone’s Color of the Year, we encourage you to read up on how and why they select a yearly color on their article, Announcing the Pantone Color of the Year 2019. To sum it up, Pantone’s color experts spend each year researching the colors in design all over the world. They look at how and why colors are so prevalent and important to the human psyche and then bring all that data together to select the Color of the Year.
From Graphic to Interiors, Color Matters
So, why does Model55 endorse Living Coral 16-1546? Well, for starters, we think it’s beautiful. Also, there are so many ways to use this color in interior design. Additionally, the motivation behind this year’s bright color pick is so important. In the article cited above, Pantone features a quote from their Executive Director of the Color Institute, in which she says:
“Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities … With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial PANTONE Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”
Using Coral in Interior Design
Coral is one of those great contrast colors that is both eye-catching and natural. Additionally, the color can warm and soften the tone of a room without sacrificing vibrancy.
