As CEO, my role is to develop the overall vision for the company, as well as provide support, education and coaching to our leadership team—and then get out of their way!

WHAT IS YOUR PAST EXPERIENCE?

I received a business degree from Southern Connecticut State University. From there, I went on to work in sales with small, medium and large software businesses. I gained tremendous knowledge from these experiences and the leaders who mentored me along the way, and I realized my true passion for entrepreneurship.

WHAT IS THE MOST INSPIRING PART OF YOUR JOB?

Planting seeds and watching them grow. Over the past 14 years, I watched my small business idea blossom into this company. Every new employee, customer, product and service is like a flower on this ever-growing journey we are on together. I am inspired by our team that continually creates beautiful designs and spaces, solves problems and delivers our clients’ vision.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A CANDIDATE WHO WANTS TO WORK AT MODEL55?

Being part of a small team is a wonderful way to learn, make a difference and even take on responsibilities you never thought you would. Some members of our team came to work for us in a relatively small role and are now leaders who shape the way we do business. No matter where you start, there’s room to grow and countless ways to make a lasting impact. Don’t be afraid to share your ideas and make yourself heard!

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR FREE TIME? 

I have always been a runner, and I also love yoga. I prefer to be outdoors on the water in my spare time, either boating or beaching. And if I’m with my family, anywhere is perfect!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS AND TV SHOWS?

I read business books or listen to them on Audible. Some of my favorites are Scaling Up by Verne Harnish, SmartTribes by Christine Comaford, Exponential Organizations by Salim Ismail and Execution by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan. For fun, I watch Fixer Upper. I love Chip and Joanna and their family values! Such amazing role models. I also enjoy watching Schitt’s Creek!

CATS OR DOGS?

Tucker, our black Lab. He’s the son my husband and I never had, and he’s the brother my four daughters always wanted.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

My mom always told me that I’m capable of doing anything I put my mind to—and I believe her!
