An Editorial From Our VP on Classic Blue

Pantone’s Color of the Year 2020 is Classic Blue

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am with this year’s Pantone Color of the Year!  After the past five years of disappointing selections (in my humble opinion), they finally nailed it!  In fact, my first car was this color, my bridesmaids wore this color and my house is decorated in this color!

Blue That’s Tried and True

Personally, I think Classic Blue is such a timeless shade that evokes a sense of calmness. Additionally, there is a dependency in this choice – it’s the kind of color that you won’t regret a year after painting your walls or investing in a new sofa. Here’s what Pantone’s ED of the Pantone Color Institute has to say on the choice:

How to Use Classic Blue

I highly encourage you to think of Classic Blue as a neutral – it goes with EVERYTHING!  Here are some pairings you may consider when working with Classic Blue:

Get Traditional

It doesn’t get more traditional than blue and white…

Get Colorful

Mixing the Classic Blue with Pantone’s Tiger Orange is fun and youthful. Here’s how the two colors look side by side…

Get Tonal

I love the West Coast coastal vibe of these two colors together…
